Note: There are a growing number of cell phones in the market known as smartphones. The most popular of the smart phones are the Palm Treo series including the Cingular Treo 650 , Sprint Treo 650 and the Verizon Treo 650. The Treo 650 phone followed the successful release of the Treo 600. First Quarter 2006-- Treo 700 (700w) is now available with special online pricing. The new Treo has a Windows Mobile operating systems plus MP3 player, Bluetooth , with 1.3 digital Camera! Smart phones don't get better than the Treo 700w for Verizon. The new Treo 700 w has VCAST for on demand TV and video streaming plus super fast download.
Cell phone watchers are speculating that the Treo 700 release will be a supreme test for Palm because the Treo 700 W will have a windows operating system as opposed to the Palm operating system.
At the same time Motorola will be releasing it's first Smartphone, the Motorola Q which will have a QWERTY keyboard for easy emailing. The Motorola Q has been dubbed a Razrberry because it resembles a Razr phone being super thin and it has QWERTY like the popular Blackberry phone. Blackberry has it's own answer to the Verizon Treo 700 w and the Motorola Q with it's release of the Blackberry 8700c for Cingular which sports it's own full styled QWERTY along with Intel built-in. Cingular customers are already breaking out the champagne with the release of the
Blackberry 8700 c.
First quarter 2006 promises to be an exciting period as the battle for the number one smartphone positon being is waged between these three contenders. Treo 700 W most probably won't be threatened by new Motorola Q (even though it's got a razr phone form) because the Motorola Q doesn't have a touch screen like the new Verizon windows Treo 700 w. Cingular's Blackberry 8700 c has just been released and it's already becoming extremely popular as it's loaded with RIM Blackberry email solutions, QWERTY all in a new thinner, lighter form!
