The Blackberry 7290 (The people at RIM apparently want you to write it BlackBerry ?!) This blackberry has a lot of the features of the Blackberry 7230. The main difference is Bluetooth. The Blackberry 7290 is the first “Blueberry”. Bluetooth is probably more critical a feature on the Blackberry then it would be on any other phone. The reason is that this is one of the few phones that you don’t want to hold up to your ear. The main reason is that you will look ridiculous. Another reason is that since the Blackberry 7290 (and other Blackberries as well) are really designed to be used for typing emails. Those old wired earpieces (which we used to call handsfree earpieces - handsfree but not wirefree…) just are not so cool.

The Blackberry 729o also adds more memory 32 MB this time. the screen is brighter than the previous Blackberry screens. And you can synch your email without placing the device in the cradle.

A few additional features that make the Blackberry 7290 tip-top…
- integrated viewing of attachments (MS Word, Excel, etc.)
- highlighted number keys for easier phone dialing
- remote address look up.

The downsides:
- Ringtones are weak
- Audio on the phone is not Nokia-reliable.

All-in-all this Blackberry’s the one that people seem to like best!
I recommend this one unless you can still be convinced that the Treo 650 is better!
