When I was a boy my greatest wish was to have a good set of walkie talkies. I remember getting set after set of walkie talkies and enjoying them to the very limits of their 10-yard range. Every year I would beg my parents (keep in mind that I’m Jewish so Santa was not an option) for a walkie talkie set that would actually have the range required to talk say, around a corner! It never came.

Fast forward a few years. It’s 1983 and I am living in Dallas, Texas. A visitor is on his way to the private school I attended and he phones us from a cellular phone aboard a plane! Needless to say we were in shock. Cell phones are real!
Fast forward to 2002. My dream seems to have come true. I not only have a decent walkie talkie (phone) with which I can talk to people around the corner of the planet, I am heading up an internet-based company providing cell phones to thousands of people all over the US!
MPhone is my chance to share with you what’s cool with cell phones!
By the way, the real fun stuff is still to come….

In my day, we used to take a few Campbell’s Soup Cans and a waxed string.
We’d pull it it until was taut and holler at each other like a bunch of bumbling idiots. And we liked it that way!
You youg’ns ain’t gotta clue! Damn know-it-alls!

What will be the ultimate cell phone? Is the minimalistic Razr (Motorola Razor Phone) the one to watch?
Or is the cell phone destined to be a miniature laptop/mp3 player/video player etc?
